Title: Recreation Coordinator

Job Description

Intern will work in consultation with Ministry of Sports and Recreation to solicit available resources.
Training of Church & Community volunteers.
Assist in organizing community gatherings e.g. foot ball, films, music competitions etc.
Assist in developing livelihood skill training programs.
Prepare proposals for additional programs and progress reports.

Project Description

Based in Pader Town, Northern Uganda, the selected individual will live and work with a team in a community of 20,000 people. The three-year program will commense May 2007. Part of the purpose of this project is to help restore purpose and hope for the future. The target group is the most vulnerable people, such as children returnees, disabled persons, orphans, widows, the elderly and PLWA.

Requirements and Qualifications

Mature, ministering Christian, active in his or her local church.
Set apart and recommended by his or her local church, as part of the church's global outreach.
Agreement with and commitment to EIC's doctrinal statement, mandate and policies.
Successful completion of EIC's cross-cultural training program (4 weeks).
Ability and willingness to raise prayer and financial support.
Good interpersonal skills.
Interests, skills and/or training for the position as appropriate.
A minimum length of service of 14 months.
Previous overseas experience is an asset.

Duration: 15 months total (1 month in Canada for training and 14 months overseas).
