The Work of EICanada


EIC works in four main areas: relief, rehabilitation, sustainable development and Christian ministries.

Relief & Rehabilitation

Our relief projects would include such things as providing food and shelter to victims of disasters in our project countries. An example of rehabilitation would be to help replant crops or rebuild homes as communities recover from shocks such as drought or flood. 

Sustainable Development

We also work in communities towards sustainable development. This is a broad field but includes such things as our HIV/AIDS education programs and primary & secondary school education programs. It also includes using appropriate technologies to increase food security and overall quality of life through such projects as increasing access to clean water though wells and other water systems, or teaching about irrigation and agriculture practices.

Christian Ministries

Our Christian ministries focus provides the foundation for all that Emmanuel International does. We always work with local churches to transform their communities, seeking to meet both physical and spiritual needs. The projects include sending students to Bible College, providing training for pastors and mobilizing churches to meet the spiritual needs of their own congregations and communities.

Church Based

  • EICanada partners with and works through the agency of local churches within needy communities throughout the world in order to assist them in meeting the specific needs of their communities.

  • EICanada attends to the needs of the whole person: social, physical, emotional and spiritual.

  • EICanada meets the needs of people regardless of their race, gender, age, colour or religion.

People Centred

  • EICanada's staff works along side the people of the communities in which they work, bringing aid and personal care into towns, villages and homes.

Building Self-Reliance

  • EICanada's programs aim to build the self-reliance and dignity of those involved.

Grass Roots

  • EICanada's programs meet basic needs at the community level, using simple technology that is easy to replicate and maintain.
