Amy is helping the Vanwoerdens as a home school teacher for 9 months. She hopes to depart September 5th.
She needs to raise $790 per month.
Amy’s Introduction letter
So allow me to tell you a little about myself. My name is Amy Vandekemp. I am the second born daughter of Harry and Judy Vandekemp. I have been working 2 part-time jobs, both of which involve children. I love to work with children, serving them with love, encouragement, laughter and a little bit of mischief here and there. Just recently I have been feeling Him preparing my feet to walk further then I could think of wandering, especially as my work and living situations have been a bit uncertain. There are many things in life I love and enjoy such as my deep love for God, people, children, serving others, serving God, teaching others about God, and last but not least, Africa.
Well my dear friends! It looks like the time has come…………….
I’ve been asked to go to Tanzania, Africa!!!
Basically, for the last year I have felt God preparing me for something big, but I wasn’t sure what it was. I have often told God my allegiance lies with him: “Where you need me I will go.” Psalm 143:8 says, “Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.”
What I will be doing:
I will spend nine months helping out a missionary family by caring for their 4 daughters, supervising their homeschooling and assisting the parents as they carry out their work in conservation agriculture and discipleship with Emmanuel International. I will live in my own small apartment in the home of another Emmanuel International family a short walk away from the VanWoerden family home. You can learn more about what Alex & Andre VanWoerden do in Tanzania by visiting their Facebook page: VanWoerdens in Tanzania. I also hope to get involved in the local community as God opens doors. I will have a Facebook page dedicated to prayer requests and posting of pictures and videos of my experiences, Facebook: Amy’s Tanzania Journey.
The mission and the VanWoerdens would like me in Tanzania by September 6th. That’s a very short time! I am thankful my flight and accommodation are already provided. I do need to raise $790 monthly to cover a small monthly salary, insurance and other small costs that help me stay well in Tanzania. One time and monthly gifts are both great; either way, I can’t be released to leave until the full monthly amount begins to be received at Emmanuel. You can donate online at www.eicanada.org or call the Emmanuel International Canada office in Stouffville at (905)640-2111, and they will be glad to answer any question and take donations.
Thank you for partnering with me!
I also need to raise up a prayer team.
Here’s how you can pray for me in the coming weeks:
