Ready for some good news?

Have you heard a lot of bad news lately? Here's a good news story.

Donors like you have planted seeds of hope—and they're growing even now.

There is good news in the village of Bundilya, Tanzania. A brand new company of five people is about to launch their lamb livestock business. It’s a welcome new source of food and income for their families. Before COVID-19, the group met other students in the EI Tanzania Entrepreneurship project. They studied through business training, wrote their proposal and secured a start-up-loan.

Like all of us, t
hey will need to be resourceful in the days ahead. The program may need to find new ways to disciple the new businesses. Plans also include training the community in VICOBA (village community banking) to bring access to savings and credit.

Will COVID-19 wipe out these gains? At this time the region has reported its first case this past weekend. Whatever happens, the President has called for businesses just like this to build a stable food supply and economy.

Thanks to donors like you, entrepreneurial skills learned today are also seeds of hope for the future.

A message from Richard McGowan
Executive Director Emmanuel International Canada
Hallelujah. He is Risen. As we anticipate attending Easter services from our homes and away from family and friends, we wanted to bring you an Easter greeting and remind you that although we are going through unprecedented times, we know that God is in control and will sustain us. We have been given time to pause, reflect on His Word and to think about what we can do for others. Please join us in praying for our teams around the world as they handle this situation according to local requirements. I am reminded of this comforting verse showing God’s love for us. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 (NIV)
